After the release of their sixth album “megaplex” on Friday 26thMarch, We Are Scientists returned to Rescue Rooms to display a mixture of their new music as well as their classic hits to a full venue.
The Pale White have been supporting We Are Scientists on the majority of their shows but Indian Queens, a female two-piece from London, played the Nottingham date. They had sounds similar to the likes of Warpaint and energised the audience with their intense and ethereal music. The set got more energised as it progressed and by the end the venue was packed and the crowd raring to go for We Are Scientists.
After what seemed like a very long wait due to having only the one support band to fill the time, We Are Scientist took the stage, greeted by a deafening applause. They opened with “your light has changed” straight from their new album, and then immediately merged into “The Great Escape”, one of their earlier hits.
As usual, the three didn’t disappoint between songs either, providing comedy entertainment and random chatterings which brought laughs from every member of the audience. The value in the shows is incredible as not only does the music never fail to disappoint, but a stand-up routine is chucked in too.
Following on were classics such as “Buckle”, “Make it Easy” and the set finished with “Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt”, but that wasn’t the end of the show. They returned with a three-song encore of “Dumb Luck”, “Nice Guys” and “Textbook” before leaving for good.
We Are Scientists finish their UK tour on 13thMay at Sheffield O2 academy and then continue into Europe, before returning to the US in the middle of June, and then onto some UK festivals heading into August. If people are at these festivals such as Truck or Neverworld and they get an opportunity to go and see them, then definitely take it and it won’t be regretted.
