This Thursday Unicef and URN are presenting their second year of live sessions. The event will showcase a number of local acts at Spanky Van Dykes (a cracking venue). This is set to be a fantastic event and entry is just a fiver – it’s not to be missed. The lineup is as follows:
Natalia Gonzalez
Natalia is an awesome singer, guitarist and student at UoN. She has a very chilled and mellow sound (influenced by the likes of Bon Iver and Lucy Rose) and will be easing you into a night of smooth grooves and spicy hot melodies.
Ollie and Matt (and Pete)
Ollie is a singer and student at UoN and will be performing alongside Matt, your current postgrad officer and drummer extraordinaire, and Pete the Pianist. Together they’re gonna be hitting your eardrums with some soulful serenades and down right funky vibes. Get ready for a collaboration of great hair and even greater tunes
Foule
Foule will be gracing our stage with some nutty numbers for the second year running! This trendy trio were nominated for best new student group in The Independent’s nationwide battle of the bands competition, and supported Bloc Party and Rat Boy DJ Sets at the NME Awards aftershow.
Sam Jones
Sam Jones is a folk rock singer from just round the corner in Mansfield. He’s just one man and a guitar but he’ll have you jigging til you can jig no more!! We’re very excited to welcome him to our stage for the first time. He played at the Isle of Wight festival last year and rocked their socks off.
Tusk
Alt-rock/Indie Rock band formed of 5 university drop-outs, who thrill crowds and disappoint their parents. They’ve recently performed a BBC Introducing live session and are smashing the local music scene. We’ve been big fans since their conception and if you’re yet to see them live you need to.
