Preview: UNICEF LIVE x The Mic

On the 30th November, a charity gig will take place at Spanky Van Dykes showing off the talent of our university with our display of talented local bands. Last year the event raised over £800 and was a great success, so this year it’s definitely not to be missed.

The line up so far consists of:

Hoodwinker

A mash up of alternative rock, indie rock and experimental music.

The Long Islands

A 3 piece UoN band who has featured on BBC Introducing and are raring to go for their first live gig. They are an indie rock/ 80s inspired band.

Tinned Astronaut

An alternative rock band called Tinned Astronaut. We’ve been playing together for about 5 years and recently supported a few cool names like The Amazons, INHEAVEN and most recently Flyte.

Leonora

Leonora’s music is a dream folk fusion – marrying the resonant vocal styles of modern music with the story-telling element of more traditional folk songs.

WHAT IS UNICEF?

UNICEF is a charity working in over 190 countries, dedicated to improving the lives of children around the world, from providing emergency relief to developing poorer regions, tackling HIV/AIDS and poverty and creating protective environments for children.

Keep an eye out for ticket release on Wednesday 8th November and for our exclusive upcoming interviews with the artists!
