“Britain’s most vital punk outfit”, The Cribs, will take their lo-fi Indie to Rock City this Monday.
The Cribs are notorious for their unabashedly unpolished sound. With 6 incredibly received albums under their belt, the trio are currently touring the UK in support of the Ric Ocasek (The Cars) produced album, “For All My Sisters”. Charting in at number 9 back in March, “For All my Sisters” became The Cribs’ third consecutive top 10 album and has produced singles such as “Different Angle” and “Burning for No One”, proving to be more than worthy material to pack a Cribs gig.
Though don’t just expect a run through of their latest album, there is almost certainly going to be a few of their cult classics being sprinkled throughout. Playing a venue described by NME as “sweaty, but truly indie”, Rock City presents itself as the perfect fit for the much adored Yorkshire trio, and is sure to provide an atmosphere that will make this show exceptionally unique. Support is coming from the critically acclaimed Brighton based Surf-psych outfit, The Wytches, with their live shows being labelled as “a full-blown riot” and “completely wild” they are guaranteed to get an early evening Rock City crowd hyped. Having headlined numerous festivals this summer including Reading, Glastonbury and Coachella, The Cribs are now in the midst of a 10 stop tour with an extremely impressive set-list and as always unbridled energy, if there is one gig to not miss this year, The Cribs at Rock City is it.
