Foxes, otherwise known as Louise Rose Allen, is an English singer-song writer whose music can be classified as pop, electronic and dance with a twist.
While some musicians of this genre tend to blend together, Foxes stands out with quirky elements of Florence & the Machine and a bit of gothic Bat for Lashes remixed with an electronic beat. Hailing from Southampton, Foxes had been slowly building her musical career until the hit track Clarity, performed with Zedd, a Russian-German music producer and DJ, catapulted her further into the public eye. Her recent debut album Glorious, released in 2014, contains the top 20 singles “Glorious”, “Youth”, “Let Go for Tonight” and “Holding onto Heaven”, all of which should take center stage at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham on Monday 26th October, along with some of her less well known pieces.
Foxes will be supported by Izzy Bizu whose unique voice combines soul, funk, jazz and pop to create a sensational sound. The 21-year old draws influences from her childhood heroes which include Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Swan, Betty Wright and James Brown as well as newer figures such as Amy Winehouse and Adele to create something new and quite different from any other artist. A combination of these two sensational singers makes this one gig not to be missed.
