This thursday Welsh psychedelic indie rockers Islet come to Nottingham to headline The Chameleon Arts Cafe. The show comes just ahead of the release of the band’s new single ‘Triangulation Station’, out on 10th June and from their upcoming album Released By The Movement.
The single, staying true to the bands’s Promethean and experimental sound, has been described as ‘a maximalist psych-prog adventure’, and gives a good indication 0f the chaos that will ensue from their performance on thursday.
The band will be supported by Weirds, who some of you may have seen at Dot to Dot last week, and are getting much online hype at the moment. Single ‘Yolk”s abrasive sound pushes listeners away only to drag them wholeheartedly back with a huge, beefy oomph.
As if to counterbalance the heavy, progressive grunge from these bands, the night will be opening with Alaskan Faction, whose clean-cut, Two Door Cinema Club-eqsue dance-indie sound got them to the finals of the Uni Music League at the 02 Academy Islington last month.
Tickets for the show are available from See Tickets or on the door. Facebook event here.
