December 10th sees Lower Than Atlantis return to Nottingham for the first time since May.
Straight off the back of the release of ‘The Black Edition’ of their self-titled album release which features a lot of covers and B Sides, you get the feeling that their latest Rock City booking might be their most varied offering yet; while you’ll find some die-hard fans desperate for songs from Far Q and World Record, it’s the new sound of their current album that will no doubt dominate set lists.
The Watford four piece’s relentless gigging over the past five years has established a strong live reputation in the rock scene, and its hard to imagine this show breaking that trend. Support is provided by Canterbury rockers ‘Moose Blood’, ‘As It Is’ and ‘Brawlers’, which should provide a more-than-adequate warm up for what promises to be a classic show from one of Britain’s finest rock offerings. Forget about the 2:2 you got in that essay and the attendance marks you lost because it was too cold to get into you seminar; if there is a way to end the semester it’s at Lower Than Atlantis this Thursday.
