Hold Fast – The Crookes are in town

Sheffield four piece The Crookes will be taking over the Bodega on the 2nd of February with their charming brand of raw, passionate and romantic indie. Expect to hear tracks from their energetic fourth studio album, “The Lucky Ones” which came out at the end of January, as well as old favourites from their previous albums and EPs.

Sheffield’s seven hills have long been alive with the sound of music. From Pulp to the Arctic Monkeys, from Drenge to Reverend and the Makers, there’s always something new coming out of this musically talented city – and the Crookes are testament to that.

Since forming in 2008 after meeting at university, the Sheffield lads have gone from strength to strength, innovating and developing when so many of their contemporaries have fizzled out. “The Lucky Ones”, their most experimental record to date, has themes of escape and wanderlust, woozy melodies that people can dance to and beautiful, poetic lyrics.

2016 is shaping up to be a good year for the band – not only have they released a new album and started on a packed UK tour – they will be heading off to America in March for SXSW 2016.

Check out the video for their latest single “The World Is Waiting” below.
