Declan McKenna releases new single ahead of UK tour

Declan McKenna is pleased to unveil his new single, ‘Isombard’, and its accompanying on-the-road diary visuals.

Produced by James Ford in London, ‘Isombard’ is Declan’s fourth single, and follows the social conscience narrative of the young British artist’s previous singles, ‘Brazil’, ‘Paracetamol’, and ‘Bethlehem’. The single impacts on 30th September through Columbia Records and on limited edition vinyl.

Declan: “The idea of Isombard is basically about this right wing Fox News-type TV presenter trying to justify things like police brutality and xenophobia, and using cases for backwards political gains, but completely fumbling over his words and not really knowing what he’s talking about”. The video, shot in Kansas City in August, and interspersed by footage by Declan and his band across the US, provides a frantic snapshot of life on the road which has been Declan’s life over the past twelve months. Making his US TV debuts, performing ‘Brazil’ solo on Conan in May, and with full band on Colbert in August, and repeat tours of the UK and US since the spring, the seventeen year old has soon built up a fervent fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic.

With a spate of European live shows in early September, Declan will head out on a full UK tour in late September alongside Blossoms and will return to the US in late October to hit the road with The Head and the Heart. This hugely promising young artist will be at Rock City on the 7th of October so don’t miss out!
