D2D preview #1: spaceships are cool

With Dot to Dot just around the corner, The Mic will be previewing the festival everyday with a look at some of the bands that we’re most looking forward to. Today, it’s Nottingham’s spaceships are cool.

spaceships are cool are a really hard band to describe. They’ve got that great late 90s/early 00’s American indie that sounds like it should be on the Garden State soundtrack (I’m thinking The Shins, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin), and yet even from the name you know they’ve got a sci-fi interest that permeates throughout their music. Their songs are nostalgic, vibrant and their shows are always a spectacle (expect to seem them in NASA space gear). They’ve played some crazy shows all over the world, not to mention festivals like Glastonbury, but at Dot to Dot they’ll be playing their local, Rescue Rooms. We can’t wait.

Catch spaceships are cool at the Rescue Rooms bar at 21.45.
