Crown The Empire @ Rescue Rooms, 10/02/2015

Alive Like Me are a post-hardcore band who are growing rapidly, with their music beckoning positivity and living life to the full.  They were the first band on stage and lead singer, Jairus, was certainly a hit with the girls! Whilst only having a small set, they left an impression playing songs including ‘Better Off’ and Our ‘Time Down Here’. Next on stage were Dangerkids, who in my opinion had a very unique style of music combining metalcore, rap and electronica, comparable to Linkin Park.

Similar to Crown the Empire, Set It Off also have a lot of theatrics in their music, making it very distinct.  Parts of it particularly reminded me of gospel music, especially ‘Why Worry’, which they finished with.  They were definitely worth seeing live, the amount of passion they put into music is obvious by the motivational speeches they were giving and by the fact they were retuning their instruments between each song.
